With School starting and the summer coming to an end, many of us are very busy during this transition... But don’t forget to keep your faith active in your lives! In fact, in all things that you do (school, family, friends, fun, work) do it all as faithful believers in Christ.

Please make plans to attend our Beaver’s lake outing after church on August 19th. Be ready to swim and go tubing! Also, we will eat some great grilled hot dogs and briefly discuss what you want your Trinity UCC youth group to be like.

Here are some more Trinity UCC student activities that you may want to participate in:


Weekly happenings:

*Circle of Concern Friday 6:45 a.m. This will start once school starts. This is for Sr. High Students. We will meet in the Trintiy UCC Sanctuary and then go to McDonalds for breakfast. Pastor Chris will be the adult leader and contact for this weekly gig.

*Confirmation Class will be on Wednesdays 7pm Starting in October. This is for 1st year confirmands. We will meet in the Trinity UCC Youth room, and Pastor Chris will be the primary leader for confirmation. All 8th graders are eligible for confirmation. We will send out informative confirmation letters out very soon to eligible youth; keep an eye out for it sometime soon. 7th graders this year can prepare for next year’s confirmation class by serving acolytes and in other ways during Sunday worship service.

Monthly/quarterly Happenings:


*Food Bank happens on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 6:45 pm. All Youth are invited to participate; you will need your own ride and it is suggested that you are with a responsible Adult. Check with Selena V. for more information about this. Times and opportunities are subject to change according to the food bank.

*THE FRIDAY CHILL (we will see if that name catches on) will be held following the Friday night Wildcat's home football (GO Wildcats!) games on the Aug 17th, 24th, Sept. 21st & Oct. 12th. This event will be for Sr. High and it will be held in the Trinity UCC Parrish Hall. It will be a coffee house setting and Jan K. & Ellen V. will help plan this event.

*Underground Church: Will be on September 30th 6:30-8:30 p.m. for all youth ages; we will meet in the parish hall to start off. Fred R. will show us how it's done.

*United Caring Shelter will be on August 12th; All youth are invited. This will be in Evansville; we will leave Jasper 2:15 and get back between 6:30 and 7:30. You'll need to have an adult willing to go drive you there and back OR find an adult with the outreach ministry team that is going, and see if you can hitch a ride with them. GET PARENTAL PERMISSION for this and generally everything you do in life!

*YOU DONT WANT TO MISS an outing at Beaver Lake after church on August 19th. All Trinity UCC Youth and their friends that they bring with them to Church that morning are welcomed at the McGovrens’ lake front for boat tubing and grilled hot dogs and stuff like that. This might be your last opportunity to have fun at the lake this summer!

*Mission Trip on October 25-28th for Middle & Sr. High Chicago. Linda K. & pastor are working on the plans. You'll need to "sign up" by the end of September. More details to be posted later on the blog.

*Youth Sunday will be on November 4th; all Youth make sure that you're at church for this Sunday. All YOUth will be leading our Trinity UCC worship service on this Sunday.
